The California ISO is charged with operating the majority of California's power grid. The objective of the 5-year Strategic Plan was to capture in design and copy how California ISO delivers energy, collaborates with energy partners, and is preparing to meet (and shape) the state’s future needs with its “Smarter Greener Better’” processes.

A Venn diagram was used as a graphical device to represent ISO’s focus on 3 keys areas — system, environment and organization — illustrating ISO’s vision and strategy for managing future shifts in resources, demand and transmission.
